During a meeting with his cabinet on Sunday, Iranian President Raeisi mentioned the increasing number of countries looking to reduce their reliance on the US dollar in trade with other nations.
He ordered the central bank to prepare for conducting business transactions with Iran’s local currency, the rial, with target countries, in collaboration with other relevant bodies in Iran.
The president also expressed his appreciation for the organizers of IRAN EXPO 2023, which began in Tehran on Sunday and praised the products displayed by Iranian companies. He emphasized the need for all sectors to support the growth and improvement of production, particularly knowledge-based production, in the country.
Additionally, the president discussed his recent trip to Syria and signed several cooperation agreements between the two countries, highlighting the potential for increased trade relations. Finally, the president stressed the importance of fighting corruption in the government and called on officials to take this issue more seriously.
